Everytime I visit DZ Akin's, I have a great experience! The food has that homemade feel, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and the bakery is next level. On this visit I ordered the Western Omellete and a side of French Toast. This was the best French Toast I have had in San Diego. It's the right amount of sweet, fluffy, and eggy. The potatoes were seasoned well and crispy on the outside. Overall, the meal was great! That's not even mentioning the great pastries we got from the bakery to go. I highly recommend the Hamantashen and the Rugelach. Tonia was our server and she was great as well. I can't wait to come back. Eat up!!!

Had dinner with friends for Rosh Hashanah -- we aren't Jewish and enjoyed the meal very much. The side dishes were on the sweet side, the atmosphere is very low key and family-friendly. Huge tables with good seating.

Great deli. Large selection of deli classics NY style. With restaurant, deli bar, and bakery sections were more than I expected. They even have a gift shop. If you are ever in la mesa it's a must do. Return factor 100%++

Best Jewish Deli in SD, hands down!! My daughter and I come here often for our favorite menu item (the Borscht w/potatoes). While we wait for that yumminess to arrive, we gnosh on the perfect little challah and butter combo. And let’s not forget the pickles! De-lish On our most recent trip, John, knocked our socks off with his impeccable service. Kudos to John for making our Mother/Daughter date night even that much more special at a place we love.

I enjoy their pastrami sandwiches. I also like that they always give you pickles. Their menu is HUGE! Their gift shop is cute and they have a wide variety of things.

What a menu! Pages of yummy sandwiches and soups and entrees. And the portions are huge! I had the pastrami Rueben which was delicious. My friend had the matzo ball soup! One of the best parts is going through their deli and bakery section. My favorite dessert is the enormous and rich chocolate eclair. They also have a little gift shop.

This place is great. Many traditional dishes. The bakery is awesome. I’d suggest the Ding Dong. They make a fancy one but I prefer the classic. I’d also suggest the mush mesh even though I didn’t get it this time. I got the TED LEITNER SPECIAL - Corned Beef, Pastrami and American Cheese served on Rye this time. Really good!
